This photograph, taken in the late 1980s or early 1990s, captures a quiet, everyday moment with a man leaning against his Range Rover in his BP uniform. Over time, the image had suffered significant deterioration. The colours had shifted heavily toward an orange tint, details had faded, and the surface was marked with visible cracks and stains from age and handling.

The restoration focused on carefully correcting the colour balance to bring the image back to a natural tone, while preserving the original atmosphere. Surface damage, including paper cracks and blemishes, was meticulously repaired by hand. Detail was gradually rebuilt across the image, ensuring the final result remained authentic to the original moment, rather than artificially enhanced.

The aim was not to modernise the photograph, but to respectfully restore it allowing the memory to be seen again as it once was.
